Nouman Ali Khan is the founder and CEO of Bayyinah (an Islamic educational institution in the United States) as well as the lead instructor for a number of Bayyinah courses including the ‘Fundamentals of Classical Arabic’ and ‘Divine Speech’.^[2] He is a speaker on Islam, and is often mentioned in the same company as scholars such as, Siraj Wahaj, Yusuf Estes and Zaid Shakir amongst others.

Nouman Ali Khan's video on the September 2012 insults to Muhammad addressed the violent protests in various countries in the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia in September 2012. The protests and attacks were in response to the inflammatory film, "Innocence of Muslims". The response video provided the important perspective of a mainstream and educated American Muslim gaining popularity on YouTube in part due to its presence on the front page of the popular website Reddit.

His early education in Arabic started in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and continued in Pakistan where he won numerous awards. He engaged in further advanced Arabic study from 1999 onwards in the United States.
