Histoire [modifier]
La station de Saverne, reconstruite en 1968, faisait partie de la ligne télégraphique qui reliait Paris à Strasbourg à partir du 31 mai 1798.
Son exploitation dura jusqu'en 1852, année de la mise en service du télégraphe électrique entre la capitale et Strasbourg, parallèlement au chemin de fer.
Toutefois, le télégraphe Chappe se trouve sur la commune limitrophe de Haegen pour seulement quelques décimètres.

La Tour se situe à proximité du Château de Haut-Barr à Saverne, dans les Vosges du Nord.
Les visites comprennent le musée du télégraphe Chappe et une démonstration de l'appareil. Le musée du Télégraphe Chappe est ouvert du mardi au dimanche de 13h à 18h de début juin à mi-septembre (jusqu'aux journées du Patrimoine).
