Daniel Dae Kim (born August 4, 1968) is an American actor, best known for his roles as Jin-Soo Kwon in Lost, Chin Ho Kelly in Hawaii Five-0, and Johnny Gat in the Saints Row series of video games.

Early life [edit]
Kim was born in Busan, South Korea, and moved to the United States with his family when he was two years old.[1] He grew up in Lehigh Valley, Easton, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Freedom High School and Haverford College. His theatre major was completed at Bryn Mawr College. He graduated from NYU's Graduate Acting Program in 1996.
Career [edit]
Prior to his casting as Jin in Lost, he was probably best known for numerous recurring roles in the genres of science fiction and fantasy. He has been seen in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as a treasury agent as well as episodes of Angel, 24, Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Enterprise, Crusade, Charmed, The Shield, Seinfeld, NYPD Blue, ER, and The Andromeda Strain.
His film credits include a small part in Spider-Man 2 as a scientist working in Doctor Octavius' laboratory and Crash, the 2005 Best Picture Academy Award winner.
Kim was named one of People Magazine's "Sexiest Men Alive" in 2005. Kim is the voice of the character Johnny Gat for THQ's Saints Row video game series. He also provided his voice for 24: The Game in which he played his character from the show, Tom Baker. He also provided the voice for Metron in the final two episodes of Justice League Unlimited.
Kim played the King of Siam in Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I from June 12–28, 2009 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England.[2]
In February 2010 it was announced that Kim was cast in the CBS reboot Hawaii Five-0 playing Chin Ho Kelly.[3] That show premiered on September 20, 2010.
BuddyTV ranked him #81 on its list of "TV's Sexiest Men of 2011".[4]

Kim currently resides in Oahu, Hawaii, with his wife and two sons.
Arrest [edit]
On October 25, 2007, Kim was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in Honolulu, Hawaii. Kim was later released at the main station after he posted $500 bail.[5] He publicly apologized for the incident a day later.[6] Kim pleaded no contest to drunken driving charges and was ordered to pay a $500 fine, had his driver's license revoked for six months, was subjected to a drug-and-alcohol assessment, was ordered to pay $212 in court fees, and perform 72 hours of community service.[7]
